Adult DETENTION CENTER

Visitation


VISITATION SCHEDULE-You must call before setting up a visit. 601-545-6148

Visitation is on Tuesday only- you must call between 8:15 and 11am to sign up. No one will be placed on the list after 11am.


 Females, T-pod and 102 Pod (F,G,H,J & K)  1st and 3rd week.

Females: 10AM -10:30AM (Call between 8:15 & 9AM)

T-Pod: 10:30AM - 11AM (Call between 8:15 & 9AM)


ISO, OBS, and 103 Pod (L,M,N,P & Q)- 2nd and 4th week.   

ISO & OBS: 9AM - 11AM (Call between 8:15 & 9AM)


No visitation on the 5th Tuesday of the month.   

If Tuesday is a holiday there will be no visitation, visitation will resume that following Thursday. 

Times are subject to change. 

          


VISITATION POLICY

  • All visitors are subject to a search for contraband upon entering the Adult Detention Center.
  • All visitors must be 18 years of age with valid photo identification. 
  • ONLY 2 visitors per inmate. All must be present at the same time.
  • Individuals on parole or probation from any court are not allowed to visit. 
  • Visitors must be dressed appropriately (no offensive or revealing clothing will be allowed). 
  • Cell phones and purses are not allowed in facility during visitation.
  • No tobacco products are allowed within the facility. 
  • You must call and sign up for visitation no later than 11:00 A.M. on the defendant's visitation day. 
  • Visitation length is 20 minutes. 
  • Respectful and appropriate behavior is expected at all times. No loud talking, and no confrontations between visitors, etc. will be permitted at any time. You will be asked to leave the premises and/or visitation privileges suspended.


The Forrest County Adult Detention Center does NOT allow Contact Visits for inmates without the direct approval of the Sheriff.  

All visitors must complete an application prior to visitation.

STATE TRUSTEE & SHERIFF TRUSTEE VISITATION HOURS:

Visitation for the State Trustee and Sheriff’s Trustee are done on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. The visitor will call between the hours of 8am- 11am

To be place on the list. The visit is for two hours (1pm-3pm). Their visit are contact visit.

Visitation Application

Mail and Packages

All packages will be searched before they are issued to an inmate. If contraband is found, the person(s) bringing the package will be arrested and prosecuted. Contraband as defined includes, but not limited to, the following: drugs, alcoholic beverages, weapons, keys, any form of tobacco, and any items inmates are not permitted to possess. 


Packages will be received Monday-Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. 

The following are the only items that will be allowed in packages (mail or visitation):


  • Up to $100 in cash
  • 1 soft bound religious text (Bible, Koran, etc.) must be ordered from and delivered by a reputable source (Amazon, Books-A-Million, etc.)


 After visible wear and tear of clothing items, a new set may be received in approximately 90 day intervals. The old set must be returned in order to receive the new set. 


  

STATE TRUSTEE & SHERIFF TRUSTEE PACKAGES:

Each Trustee can receive a box on the 15th of each month. No box will be accepted after the 15th unless it approved by the Major prior to.


Any items that are available for purchase in the jail canteen (personal hygiene items, snacks, envelopes, notepads, and stamps) may not be received by the inmate. It shall be the responsibility of the inmate to advise persons sending packages what items are allowed. Forrest County will not be responsible for the return of any unacceptable items.

Monday through Friday:

9AM-12PM, 1PM-4PM and 7PM - 12AM

Saturday and Sunday:

9am-4pm

Only exception is on Tuesday-

 the hours are 7pm-12m due to visitation.
