Administrative Operations and professional standards
A.O.P.S.
Policies and Procedures are critical for a law enforcement agency. Katherine Byrd is Director of Administrative Operations and Professional Standards. Part of her duties are to develop policies and procedures to meet federal and state requirements. These policies and procedures led to the FCSO achieving accreditation as of April 2023.
Additionally, Katie serves as the primary Grant Coordinator for the FCSO and has successfully assisted the FCSO obtain numerous grants over the past several years. There are multiple divisions under the AOPS including Dispatch, Public Information and IT.
Dispatch is responsible for emergency and non-emergency calls forwarded to the Forrest County Sheriff's Office.
Public Information and Media Relations
With more than 30 years of broadcast and public relations experience, Sherri Marengo currently serves as the Public Information Officer
for the Forrest County Sheriff's Office.
